About Goth Baby: The concept of Goth Baby came about after discussing with her mum, who hand knits baby clothes, with which they create baby hampers. Sarah asked her to knit some things that weren’t the usual pastels, as she said not everyone wants to dress their babies in the pale pastel colours and she joked if you’re a Goth you probably wouldn’t want to put them in white. Sarah said that’s it she searched the internet and there wasn’t really too much available and she said that’s it, I know what I’m going to do, I’m going to create a range of clothes for ‘Goth Babies’, although as her style is a little more punk than goth these days the brand Goth Baby became a fusion of the two.
Sarah (Aka Thinking Scientist): Sarah is a self-taught artist, designer, photographer, stylist, part-time DJ, dancer and vintage collector with a PhD in Science. She loves pattern design and has passion for upcycling, harvesting and recycling fabrics and using the prints as inspiration in her own designs. Sarah loves to mix old and new, which is reflected in her eclectic mix of items. Sarah takes inspiration from from various places, including famous artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, Cesar Manrique, Roberto Burle Marx, Warhol and many other artists from the Expressionist, Fauvist, Cubist, Avant Garde and Pop-Art movements. Many of her works have hidden meanings and stories. Initially she was sceptical about the demand for digital art, but decided if it’s good enough for David Hockney, then it’s good enough for her.
